Frequently Asked Questions
General Acupuncture FAQs
-
Acupuncture is an ancient medicine that acts both as a preventative measure and a curative one. It involves the gentle insertion of hair-thin needles at points on the body following specific channel pathways. These needles interact with the fascial network (our internal messenger system) to improve brain chemistry and stimulate internal responses, such as regulating hormones like cortisol (stress), releasing pain-relieving endorphins, increasing circulation, reducing inflammation, and more.
-
Acupuncture has a myriad of benefits including improving digestion, sleep, and hormone-related health, as well as mental health concerns like stress, anxiety, and depression. Orthopedic acupuncture has incredible results with reducing pain, improving muscle function, and enhancing physical abilities. Acupuncture not only has the potential to help you feel better, but it can also help you look better. Facial acupuncture is an ancient Chinese beauty practice known to reduce wrinkles and inflammation while boosting collagen and elastin.

This varies based on your condition and your goals. Just like you won’t gain muscles from doing just one day at the gym, you will likely need 10-12 treatments to make significant impact. I take detailed notes and re-evaluate your progress to make sure we’re on the right path. To experience profound and lasting results, I recommend my Treatment Plans to commit to feeling your best.
-
Wear something loose and comfortable, as it is common to be treated around the knees and elbows. For Therapeutic Facial Acupuncture treatments, it is best to arrive with a clean face if possible.
-
For those under 18, the parent or guardian will be present for the entirety of the treatment. While all of my treatments are gentle, responsive, and intuitive, I take extra care to make sure that your child feels safe, seen, and heard. Depending on your child’s age, treatments may or may not include acupuncture needles. The appointment will include evaluation and other traditional modalities such as acupressure, gua sha, cupping, reiki, and vibrational therapy with tuning forks. It often takes at least 5 treatments for children to begin to feel comfortable receiving treatments, so plan to be patient and commit to a dedicated treatment plan.

At this time we do not accept insurance. We do accept HSA and FSA payments. If you would like to submit for reimbursement to your insurance provider, please let the clinic know so that we can provide you with a detailed receipt that contains all the information you will need. You will need to call your insurance to confirm your out-of-network acupuncture coverage.

Therapeutic Facial Acupuncture & Microneedling FAQs
-
With my extensive training in facial acupuncture, I have developed my own signature style of Therapeutic Facial Acupuncture that yields incredible results both internally and externally. These treatments are a natural way to age gracefully through body acupuncture, local facial acupuncture, LED light therapy, and facial massage with high quality skin care products. A series of 10 treatments through my Radiant Renewal Treatment Plan is recommended to see the most profound benefits that last. See the Therapeutic Facial Acupuncture page to learn more.

Microneedling is a botox-alternative treatment that uses a motorized pen with tiny needles to improve facial appearance and skin integrity. A series of 4-6 Microneedling treatments spaced out every 4-6 weeks is the best way to achieve lasting glowing and radiant skin.
-
There is no downtime! You are free to go about your day and your usual skincare routine. You will likely be a little flushed from the facial massage so I recommend not going into direct sunlight immediately after treatment. If you would like me to apply sunscreen at the end of your treatment, please let me know.
-
After a Microneelding treatment you can expect anywhere from 24-48 hours of down time. Your face, neck, and chest may look red or slightly pink and it will feel like a mild sunburn that is slightly tender. You will be provided with after care instructions and topical products for the first 48 hours to aid with recovery. I sell skin care products that you can purchase to continue to aid in the healing process and improve results.
